Fundraising

We help nonprofits to secure grants and increase funding from foundations, corporate funders, family foundations, major donors, and more.

Our Approach

Using a ‘hands on” consulting approach, we help nonprofit leaders to develop clear, actionable fundraising strategies to increase funding from foundations and other donors. We provide coaching and practical advice to nonprofits that demystifies fundraising and brings clarity, focus and deep experience to reach your revenue goals. With straightforward advice, we’ll help your team to identify “best fit” foundation prospects, build your confidence to approach foundations, and shape fundraising best practices at the staff and board level.

College and Community Fellowship

In 2025, Schonfield Consulting began partnering with The College & Community Fellowship (CCF), a New York City–based organization supporting formerly incarcerated women to succeed in college and beyond. Together, we’re addressing urgent fundraising needs while building a foundation for long-term sustainability.

Working with CCF’s Executive Director, staff, and board, we developed a focused fundraising plan, built a pipeline of 200+ potential funders, and identified the top 25 “best-fit” foundation prospects to cultivate. We’ve strengthened staff and board fundraising skills, crafted tailored outreach strategies, and helped CCF apply for $750,000 from a leading education funder. Our work is helping CCF deepen relationships with key funders and grow the resources needed to advance educational and economic mobility for justice-impacted women.

Rework the Bay

Based in San Francisco, ReWork the Bay advances a just and equitable Bay Area economy centered on the needs of working people. As the organization celebrated its 20th anniversary, we partnered with ReWork leadership to strengthen their fundraising strategy and increase long-term impact. Together, we identified the top foundations most aligned with ReWork’s mission, developed tailored approaches to national and regional funders, and coached staff to deepen their fundraising skills. Our support helped ReWork the Bay apply for a $250,000 opportunity with a national funder, grow its overall revenue, and advance its mission. As ReWork staff said, “What truly sets Anne apart is her ability to empower her clients. She didn’t just hand us a plan—Anne made sure we understood it, believed in it, and had actionable next steps to carry it forward.”

Oasis Initiative

Schonfield Consulting helped the OASIS Initiative (University of California program working in West Africa) to develop and implement an effective fundraising strategy. We identified “best fit” foundations, advised on foundation outreach, and developed a major donor plan, resulting in a $750,000 gift from one individual donor. We also facilitated annual fundraising retreats for OASIS staff and Board members. As OASIS Executive Director explained “Anne was instrumental in crafting effective fundraising strategies, facilitating meetings, and fostering meaningful Board engagement.”
