Happy summer!
Anne and the Schonfield Consulting Team
Evaluation for Michigan Saves
In April we began working with Michigan Saves, the nation’s first nonprofit green bank based in Lansing Michigan. In 2022, Michigan Saves launched the Lead Poisoning Prevention Fund (with support from the state of Michigan) to help families address lead paint hazards in homes, with subsidized loans for lead abatement. Many older homes in Michigan have lead-based paint, which poses health hazards to kids and other family members. Michigan Saves hired Schonfield Consulting to conduct an evaluation of the Lead Fund to better understand the success and challenges of this important program. We’re working closely with Michigan Saves on stakeholder interviews, a survey of 600+ participants and other evaluation efforts. We’re eager to analyze the results and help the Lead Fund reach more Michiganders with lead abatement loans and support.
Fundraising Plan for One Treasure Island
Since early 2024, we’ve worked with One Treasure Island (One TI) a Bay Area nonprofit, to help sustain and expand their fundraising. Based on Treasure Island (a neighborhood of San Francisco), One TI is working with others to create an equitable, inclusive and thriving mixed-income community for all Treasure Island residents and businesses. One TI focuses on low income households and those who have experienced homelessness. We’re working closely with their leadership and Board to create a Fund Development Plan with clear goals for the next 3 years, and train staff and Board on fundraising efforts (see photo above from Board training in May). We’re thrilled to support this vibrant community organization and help them increase their funds and resources.
